The Rules of Blackjack
Blackjack is a simple card game to understand but rich in strategy, where the objective is to beat the dealer without exceeding a total of 21 points.
Gameplay:
Each player places an initial bet before the cards are dealt.
The dealer deals two cards to each player and to themselves. The players' cards are visible, while the dealer keeps one card face down.
Numbered cards are worth their face value, face cards are worth 10 points, and an Ace is worth 1 or 11 points, depending on what is more advantageous for the player.
Players then decide on their action:
Hit: receive a new card.
Stand: keep their current total.
Double: double the initial bet and take only one additional card.
Split: if the first two cards are identical, players can split them into two distinct hands with an additional bet.
Objective: Achieve a total of cards as close as possible to 21 without exceeding it. If a player exceeds 21, they automatically lose. At the end, the dealer reveals their hidden card and hits until they reach at least 17 points. If the dealer exceeds 21, players still in the game automatically win.
Winning Conditions:
If the player has a total higher than the dealer's without exceeding 21, they win.
If the player gets a Blackjack (21 points with the first two cards), they win 1.5 times their bet, unless the dealer also gets a Blackjack.
