To receive cards, each player must place an initial bet “ANTE” and/or a “PAIR PLUS” bet on the appropriate area. Once the bets are placed, the dealer deals three face-down cards to each player and to himself (the shuffle and dealing order may differ if an electronic card shoe is used).
Once the dealing is completed, each player has a choice between two actions: fold (which is equivalent to giving up the cards and losing the bets), or raise (which is equivalent to placing a bet).
To raise, the player must place the same amount on the “PLAY” position as the initial bet.
The dealer must have a Queen high to qualify. If this condition is not met, the dealer pays the initial bets and winning “PAIR PLUS” bets but does not pay the raises. If the dealer has Queen high or better, the dealer qualifies, compares hands, and pays the initial and bonus bets, the raises, and the winning “PAIR PLUS” bets.

How Three Card Poker is played

Game Procedure
Three Card Poker uses a standard 52-card deck.

Once the cards are dealt, each player has two options: fold (which means giving up the cards and losing the bets), or raise (which means placing a bet).
To raise, the player must place the same amount on the “PLAY” position as the initial ANTE bet.
The dealer must have a Queen high to qualify. If this condition is not met, the dealer pays the initial bets and winning “PAIR PLUS” bets but does not pay the raises. If the dealer has Queen high or better, the dealer qualifies, compares hands, and pays winning initial bets, bonuses, raises, and “PAIR PLUS” bets.
Pair Plus
The “PAIR PLUS” bet is a separate bet and wins whenever the player receives a hand containing at least a pair. The “PAIR PLUS” bet is paid regardless of the dealer’s hand.
Bonus on the Initial Bet
There is a bonus on the initial bet, which pays a bonus only for three hands obtained by the player: a Straight (paid 1 to 1 on the initial bet), a Three of a Kind (paid 4 to 1 on the initial bet), and a Straight Flush (paid 5 to 1 on the initial bet). Bonuses on the initial bet are always paid, whether or not the dealer qualifies, and regardless of the dealer’s result.
Note that when the dealer does not qualify, the player who believes they have a winning combination on the ANTE, BONUS and/or PAIR PLUS must announce it aloud, and only the player’s cards are turned over by the dealer for verification.
Hand Rankings
In Three Card Poker, hand rankings differ slightly from classic poker variants, because with three cards, a Flush is easier to obtain than a Straight. Therefore, in Three Card Poker, a Straight beats a Flush, and the card ranking is as follows: Ace (highest card), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2.
The strongest hand consists of an Ace, King, and Queen of the same suit, sometimes referred to as a Royal Straight Flush. If the player and the dealer have the same hand, no chips are won or lost.
